About WCCC
The board of the WCCC is made up of 18
members who represent the main statutory bodies, the social
partners, local development/partnership groups, parents, childcare
providers and the National Voluntary Childcare Organisations.

The WCCC
office and Information Centre is located at Kilmantin Hill in
Wicklow Town, (directly opposite the old Wicklow Gaol).
WCCC
was set up in June 2001, its objective to co-ordinate an increase
in the quantity of childcare places and the quality of childcare
provision in County Wicklow. The WCCC Strategic Plan 2002 - 2006,
launched in June 2002, and its annual Action Plans provide the detail
of its targets and its actions. Its remit covers children between
the ages of 0 and 14.
The WCCC
staff includes a full-time Co-Ordinator and an Administrator and
two part-time Childcare Development Workers. In addition a part
time Childminder Advisor for North, East and South Wicklow is employed
by the WCCC through a Service Agreement with the Health Service
Executive (HSE), East Coast Area, and a Childminder Advisor for
West Wicklow is employed by the HSE's South Western Area.
