About Childminders

Childminders

Childminders offer family-based childcare which is personal, unique, adaptable and family friendly. The important role Childminders play is obvious: between 70%- 80% of all childcare in Ireland is carried out by paid and unpaid Childminders. They are valued, recognised and respected by parents and childcare organisations alike.

Support for Childminders

WCCC supports Childminders through the work of its two Childminder Advisors, whose role is to support and advise Childminders minding children in their own homes (and the parents who have their children minded).

Miriam O'Regan is the Childminders' Advisor for North, East and South Wicklow. Phone: 0404 64455, mobile 087 219 8944,

Bridie Clancy is the Childminders' Advisor for the HSE's Southern Western Area which includes West Wicklow. Phone 01-6106147
